How To Prevent iPhones From Overheating?

You do various activities on your iPhone, from making phone calls to playing games. That’s why you will find multiple reasons why your iPhone overheats if you start looking for the causes. When smartphones become too hot, they may start to act up, and this can make them suffer long-term damage. Also, there have even been some cases with iPhones where they have exploded or burst into flame. The other reasons can be the suspect of this problem is the surrounding temperature at which your device is kept, such as the place you put your iPhone or the hot weather. However, a bad quality battery can also be accountable for this overheating problem.

You iPhone has almost all of the same components as your computer, and they are very small when compared to the PC. I suppose you may have noticed that unlike the PC, your iPhone doesn’t have a fan or any moving parts for cooling it down but that’s something we never focus until something goes wrong and your device starts getting overheated.

Follow the tips given below to cool down your iPhone:

  1. Take out the case. Yes, you got me right. Sometimes keeps your iPhone in a case can be a cause of its overheating.
  2. Don’t leave or forget it in a car. The temperature of your iPhone can rise quite quickly in a parked car. Try to take your iPhone with you when parking the car.
  3. Avoid direct sunlight. You have to avoid the direct sunlight completely if you are in a place and that is extremely hot. If you are on holiday and the location is fiercely sunny, try keeping the iPhone in your bag or anywhere out of the reach of direct sunlight.
  4. Avoid playing graphically advanced games. Many the games you are used to playing daily heats up your iPhone since they tax the processor of your device.
  5. Don’t use Bluetooth too often. Using Bluetooth can also contribute an extra source of overheat. You can start doing this from the control center by swiping up and tapping the Bluetooth icon.
  6. Try to keep Location Services disable. To be honest, GPRS is one of the primary functions that can be heating up an iOS device. Try to use it only when it’s essential.
  7. Avoid charging if you are somewhere hotter. There’s more probability for your iPhone to become hot when you put it on charging at a warm place. Charging can heat up the device.
  8. Put your iPhone on Airplane mode. Doing so will turn off Wi-Fi, Cellular data, GPRS, and Bluetooth also.
  9. Turn your iPhone off entirely. It’s a bit extreme than all of the tips above mentioned but if your device gets too much overheated then keeping the iPhone switched off when not in use can really be helpful. For doing so, hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then slide to power off your iPhone.

Note: If your iPhone still heats up even after exercising all of the steps mentioned above, it’s possible that there’s a severe fault in the internal system of your device.

We hope these tips will help you in keeping your iPhone at a reasonable and acceptable temperature.
